2008 Open Air Classic #3

The 2007 event was held in DuBuque, Iowa and we attended it, even though there is no webpage here for the event. To recap it...Friday was a beautiful day, but luck ran out on Saturday and rain was the order of the day. Since we weren't able to 'capture' any decent photos, we decided not to try a webpage.

This year, Appleton was the headquarters. We decided early on to go (our 7th event) and to make a 'mini-vacation' out of it by spending a few days in Door County prior to the event.

As usual, the event was well organized and the roads were twisty and fun. Friday dawned overcast, but even some 'misty' showers couldn't make us put the tops up. We spent Friday circling Lake Winnebago...the largest 'inland' lake in Wisconsin. Saturday was everything Friday wasn't...sunny and beautiful...and the temperature was 'just right'. We explored both sides of the Fox River, and finished the day with a buffet at Appleton's minor league baseball park, where we staged a 'car show' with all 200+ cars on display before the buffet/game.

Sunday morning saw the prize drawings, awards and our good-byes until next year. Yes..."A good time was had by all".
